The fresh crop of women farmers is the key ingredient to stimulating the health of our environment, economy, communities, and food system. Women make up one of the fastest growing segments of new farmers and business owners. They are cultivating innovative ways to champion organic agriculture and develop collaboration and cooperation. This session celebrates the historic roots and inspiring stories of women in sustainable agriculture today. The speaker recognizes the need and opportunity for women to transform our food system. She is the author of Soil Sisters: A Toolkit for Women Farmers as well as several other books about women entrepreneurs.
