Choosing Crops & Varieties for Greenhouse/Hoophouse Production

In this sequel to the earlier Greenhouse/Hoophouse session, Mr. Mefferd will cover the top crops for profitability in protected culture and go into some of the idiosyncrasies of their production that would be unique to the greenhouse or hoophouse. Many varieties of crops such as cucumbers or tomatoes are bred specifically for greenhouses and the best of these varieties will be highlighted, as well as what to look for in varieties that do well in organic systems in greenhouses. This is an excellent way for small growers to distinguish themselves in their markets.
