Surendra Dara will share his work with strawberries and vegetables to develop reliable alternatives to chemicals for pest management. Dara works to popularize microbial biological preparations that are commercially available and can be sprayed above ground, via subsurface drip, or by coating seeds or transplants prior to planting. He also researches botanical extracts and works them into IPM strategies with biostimulants and beneficial microbes to improve crop health and yields in vegetables and strawberries. A farmer who has used these alternative methods will also share their experience.
