Last year's pesticide workshop spurred some real activism: over 400 postcards with comments were signed by EcoFarm attendees and delivered to Governor Newsom and CalEPA Secretary Blumenfeld. Do we stop with comments on postcards? NO! Come to this discussion group where we continue our struggle with the elephant in the room: 200 million+ pounds of pesticides are applied to CA fields annually. Over 500,000 students attend school within 1⁄4 mile of highly hazardous pesticide use. Join a group of people like you who at last year’s workshop committed themselves to an ad hoc group to communicate with each other, and participate in a spirited discussion of how we can take action to achieve what we all want: get the poisons out of agriculture!
